HairVac Basics
This video demonstrates the basic functions of the HairVac along with a few tips for best practices:
The suctionhead on the HairVac at the table can be used on your clippers for clipper vacuuming, but you can also use it to clean off your table after a groom and to spot clean the dog after scissoring. The suctionhead is compatible with any of our Base Plat Adapters. One comes free with the van and you can find more on our website or by calling our office.
Different groomers use different lengths of the vacuum hose, so feel free to trim back the hose as needed to suit your particular style.
The variable speed controller and on/off switch are mounted above the grooming table on a switch plate labeled "HairVac". You can adjust the speed of the vac to match the needs of the coat of the dog on the table and to control the volume in the salon. Most groomers use the vac at 40% to 60% speed for most dogs and only turn it up all the way for housekeeping.
The housekeeping hose for the HairVac is located in the wheelwell storage compartment in the van under the 12 v Power Panel. To swap the hose out, simply disconnect the vacuum hose from the port on the back shelf of the van and replace it with the housekeeping hose. This is a high-stretch hose and can reach all the way up to the engine compartment if needed. The wand included with it can be used with any shop vac tools.
