Water Tank Removal

This video goes over the process of removing your Fresh and Gray Water Tanks for cleaning and maintenance purposes:

To remove the strap holding your tanks in place, press the release lever on the tightening device and swing the device open until the strap loosens.

Vans built in or after 2019 won't have this strap, so continue on to the next steps.

Disconnect the overflow hose and the pump connected to the Fresh Water Pump. If the hose connected to your Fresh Water Pump is at the bottom of your tank, be sure to close the valve before disconnecting it.

Remove the lid from the tank to get a better grip and slowly remove it from the van. If you meet any resistance, check to see if any hoses are caught or still connected.

When you're ready to put the tanks back, get them back into their positions and make sure to reconnect all of the hoses properly. Put the strap back into place if you have one and ratchet it tight until the indicator line shows that it's tight enough.

You should only need to remove the tanks from your van when you're doing a deep clean, need to access the area behind the tanks, or have some sort of urgent to remove them. This should not be a frequently performed task. If you need further assistance on this topic, please call our office line at 864-269-2912.

Thank you so much for being the most important member of the Hanvey Family!
